12/2022: Forsee Power is a French battery systems manufacturer that designs, assembles, and supplies energy management systems for markets in Europe and Asia. Their lithium-ion battery systems have made them a worldwide leader in sustainable electromobility for light and heavy electric vehicles.
With a well-established presence in Europe and Asia, Forsee Power looked to continue their international footprint by investing in North America. For their headquarters, Forsee was interested in a location close to a large city with a good transport network and proximity to potential clients and the supply chain. They were looking for one hub in North America to host their corporate office, manufacturing operations, and R&D capabilities.
Ohio has proven to be a leader in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects. And France is one of Ohio’s largest trade partners, ranking fifth in FDI with 70 French-owned companies employing 20,000 Ohioans. When choosing a headquarters in North America, Forsee Power ultimately felt Ohio met all their needs as they chose to build their North American headquarters in Hilliard. This international investment from Forsee Power will expand their production capacity to 3 GWh by 2027, which will require an estimated first- phase investment of more than $13 million and recruitment of a local team of 150 employees.
With its access to talent and proximity to resources, manufacturers, and end markets, Ohio has established itself as a natural fit for the emerging electric vehicle supply chain and electric vehicle manufacturing. Ohio’s commitment to clean manufacturing with renewable energy aligns perfectly with Forsee Power’s standard of sustainable electro mobility by providing safe, long-lasting, and performant zero-emission solutions.
“We were looking for a place with the right pool of talents for our industry combining operators, engineers and general management professionals,” said Sophie Tricaud, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Forsee Power. While we were considering several states, JobsOhio and Columbus did an amazing job understanding our needs, connecting us with lots of potential partners for the building project and our future business. The people we met, and their expertise were key in the decision process.”
