German Mahle Expands in Lockport, Niagara County / NY

MAHLE, a leading international development partner and supplier to the automotive industry providing components to major automotive manufacturers across North America, will undergo a $6.8 million expansion at its Niagara County facility, supporting about 11 new jobs and will retain 226 jobs in the state-of-the-art manufacturing space.

The Lockport expansion project consists of re-locating a Research & Testing Center from Michigan to Niagara County with a wide range of capabilities to efficiently test thermal management products driven by consumer comfort. The added customer value will be visible by ensuring that vehicles and components meet the highest standards of performance, safety, durability, and innovation.

Founded in 1920, MAHLE is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany and supplies customers in both passenger car and commercial vehicle sectors, employing more than 67,000 people across the globe. Today, one in every two vehicles globally is equipped with MAHLE components.

Empire State Development (ESD), New York’s chief economic development agency, is incentivizing MAHLE to continue its growth in Niagara County by providing up to $1.7 million in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits in exchange for job creation commitments.
