In November Germany-based revalyu broke ground on their first advanced PET recycling facility in Statesboro, Georgia. The company will be investing over $200 million to build a plant capable of recycling 90,000 metric tons of post-consumer PET plastic per year.
This is an equivalent of 25 million plastic bottles per day at its Georgia facility. Statesboro is conveniently located near the Port of Savannah, ensuring efficient and effective transportation.
“Global companies like revalyu fill niche roles in innovative industries,” said Commissioner Pat Wilson, Georgia Department of Economic Development. “Sustainability is one industry where Georgia has leveraged its international connections, including more than 50 years of continuous representation in Europe. We’re excited for Bulloch County to welcome revalyu as its first German-based company!”
